What to do when I cannot install Firefox 6.0.2, problems with permissions?
I'm trying now to install Firefox 6.0.2 to my laptop. Asus x70IJ with Win7 64bit. I cannot get installation trough. I receive pop-up with text "You may not have the necessary permissions to use all the features of the program you are about to run. You may run this program as a different user or continue to run the program as the current user". I have only one User and definetely have all permissions in this account. There is two choises to run it current user, or as the following.. Administrator is there, but does not aprove my password. And installation end with current user.

SOLUTION FOUND!!! I hope it will work for you too. (sorry for the english but I'll do my best to explain everything)
After running antivirus nod32 and malwarebites (and delete some virus, probably the responsible of the fact), one guy in the Italian forum of Mozilla told me to run the program under compatibility (right button of the mouse, set up) and checking also the part in which is written "run as the administrator" (i hope in the English version is written like this). In my case, the compatibility was set under windows XP (don’t know why it was like that, ‘cause I have Windows 7!)
So I hope you can solve the problem too, as I do… If it still doesn’t work, before solving this, I was using Firefox Portable without any problem, hope it will work for you too. Good Luck!

Thanks for sharing the solution with me! For me "run as the administrator" for the installation package was the way to fix it.

It should only be necessary to run Firefox as Administrator once to have the permissions to update files.
You shouldn't be running Firefox all the time as Administrator as that can have security implications and make you vulnerable to attacks.
the thing that I don't understand is why it doesn't fix from the beginning when we choose to run as the admin in the pop-up and we have to go to the set-up!
Hi! I edited my earlier comment about the solution. Sorry about small amouth of information there. I marked "the run as the administrator" for the installation file. There was no need to touch any settings at actual program. So no risks there for me then. Firefox now works normally.
