Lost bookmark toolbar on update
After July 2014 update the Bookmark Toolbar is missing. DATA: (1) In View/Toolbars ONLY Menu Bar is checked. Top of 3 bars includes Menu Bar, Addr Bar, Google Bar, and some function icons like Home, Print, Left/Right. Bottom bar is Tab Bar. In between is a Large bar with only a Big new down arrow which brings up the Bookmark screen, as if I'd clicked on "Bookmarks" on the Menu Bar, and 2 add-on icons and that's all. (2) In Customize, I drag Bookmark Toolbar Items to the middle line, get out of Customize, all my bookmarks for the toolbar APPEAR for about :01 and then they're all gone. (3) Note - When bookmark toolbar icon is on middle line, it still does not show in View/Toolbars. From the Bookmark Screen I can't drag anything to any of the bars. I've tried to be detailed with symptoms. Wish I could attach a capture screen. Please help. I don't want to go back to previous version again. Thanks.

Dashlane turns out the be the problem, and I'll address their toolbar with them. I sincerely appreciate everyone's input. Great job. You can close this Question.

Hi! :)

Thanks! :) CAKCy
I learned a lot in prepping this reply. First capture shows what I described in my question. But, then I went to FULL screen (2nd capture) and the toolbar appeared. But when I clicked back on RESTORE DOWN (3d capture) the bar disappears completely again. Usually the bar would just have >> at the end. hope this helps.
Why two down-arrows on different toolbars?
My advice is to get rid of the two toolbar buttons that are on the Bookmarks Toolbar, and see what happens.
Did you use Customize to move "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" to the main Navigation Toolbar?
If so:
Something in Firefox 31 is not compatible with that arrangement: in other threads, users discovered that "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" slides off the end of the bar instead of displaying partially, and you can only view it by clicking the overflow button. I'm not sure why you don't have an overflow button.
Anyway, if you want to empty a bar, try this: empty the Navigation Toolbar and use Classic Theme Restorer to suppress it.
Ref. Why will FF 31 no longer display my Bookmark Toolbar Items in another toolbar
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can try to reset the browser.uiCustomization.state pref on the about:config page to reset the toolbar customization.
Thank you all for the suggestions. 'the-edmeister - the larger down arrow appears when the bookmark toolbar vanishes. jscher2000 - Prior to the FF update I did have the BM toolbar in the unnamed middle line - call it Dashlane bar line - and had no problem. View does not list Navigation Bar, maybe because I've got those tools integrated on the top line to the right of the Menu Bar. I am using Classic Theme Restorer already. Are you suggesting reconfiguring options in the Restorer? The overflow use to show, but now the bar vanishes instead leaving just the large down arrow - except at Full screen and then there's no need for overflow. Note: this happens whether on Dashlane bar or BM bar. cor-el - no difference in Safe Mode and Accelerator off or on. I did reset .uiCustomization which had specific info and now is back to default. So gang, I'm not sure where to go next. It may be what jscher2000 said about other users, but then I'd rather go back to previous version. Is that a bad idea? Your assistance is truly appreciated.
Dashlane, is that an extension? I didn't realize you could customize extension toolbars now.
View doesn't list the Navigation Toolbar because starting in Firefox 29 it is "always on" and can only be hidden by an extension.
The Bookmarks Toolbar Items should work normally when placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar (default configuration), but other bars may be hit or miss.
