Hi pushpikasj, I don't know what could cause an unresponsive script error on the new tab page. Perhaps a Firefox program file was damaged? During your troubleshooting, have you tried this: Clean Reinstall We use this name, but it's not about removing your settings, it's about making sure the program files are clean (no inconsistent, corrupted, or alien code files). As described below, this process does not disturb your existing settings. Do NOT uninstall Firefox, that's not needed. (1) Download a fresh installer for Firefox 38.0.5 from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ to a convenient location. (Scroll down to your preferred language.) (2) Exit out of Firefox (if applicable). (3) Rename the program folder, either: (64-bit Windows folder names) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox to C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox (32-bit Windows folder names) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox to C:\Program Files\OldFirefox (4) Run the installer you downloaded in #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings. Can you get Firefox reinstalled? Note: Some plugins may exist only in that OldFirefox folder. If something essential is missing, look in these folders:
- \OldFirefox\Plugins
- \OldFirefox\browser\plugins
Errors
I have lost track of what you have tried so far.
Could you try to minimize plugins? Here's what I mean -- open the Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. On the right side, set all plugins you can live without for 24 hours to "Never Activate". I suspect that would be everything except Shockwave Flash and maybe Adobe Acrobat. You can set those to "Ask to Activate".
With that setting when you visit a site that wants to use Flash or Acrobat, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.
If you don't need the plugin, you can just ignore the notification.
This will help determine whether the page loads normally without plugins.

What??? Do you want thumbnails on the new tab page or not? If not, you can switch to a truly blank page:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste newtab and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the browser.newtab.url preference and enter your preferred page:
- Page thumbnails (default) => about:newtab
- Blank tab => about:blank
- Built-in Firefox home page => about:home
- Any other page => full URL to the page

I suggest starting a new question about this. Also, because Google search results are personalized, you need to be more specific about what you want me to look at. Just a page of images doesn't help me.
