stupid asses.....the more plugins the more CPU usage, the more freezing, & crashes.....dah! Your site is not that big to hold all these plugins your wanting us to use. Like anything else get one, in turn you get RID of one.....AND DON'T even ask or suggest that I use any of Firefox Security.....Firefox is NOT a security site, they have no clue, so DON'T mess with my McAfee!

Are these 5- 10- 20-second freezes, or does Firefox hang completely and need to be restarted?

Could you try the new Reset feature? This duplicates certain key data from your active settings folder into a new one, bypassing some add-ons and custom settings. Your plugins will still be active, but could be disabled manually if you like.

More information in this article: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.

Notice any differences?

If the new settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) has the same problem, you can switch back if you like using Firefox's Profile Manager. This article describes how to start up in the Profile Manager so you can switch (to avoid data loss, don't remove anything in that dialog). If the new settings folder works well and you want to migrate some additional data, this article may help: Recover important data from an old profile.

I just noticed your earlier post: Everything is up to date, on my computer....the problem is Flash Plug In (adobe), it's using to much CPU then crashes along with Firefox. Normally Flash works fine by itself, but it can have interactions and incompatibilities with other add-ons.

There are two Flash player settings you could change which might help: Flash's hardware acceleration setting and the new protected mode for Windows Vista/7.

You can toggle the hardware acceleration setting using the steps in this article: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

To test whether the protected mode issue is relevant, you could temporarily disable this new feature. In the following article, scroll down to the "Last Resort" section: Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?
