I want to turn of the spelling checker in Waterfox, but the method for Firefox does not work ?
I have added my language in the options and set it as preference, and checked off " check my spelling as I type" , but I KEEP getting the English spelling-checker when typing on a certain forum. And I am typing in Dutch, so it is very hard to read with almost every word underlined.....
So, I cannot set it to my own language, and I cannot turn it of completely. Either one would be great......
I have been loolking for a way to post that this question concerns WATERfox, not FIREfox, but somehow there is no separate place to do so......

The global setting to turn off ALL spell-checking in Firefox is here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General mini-tab > "Check my spelling as I type"
Are you saying that doesn't work?
Note that already loaded pages are not affected by the change, only pages that load after you switch the setting. So if you want to stop spell-checking on the current page, you will need to reload it after changing the setting.

hello L33ntje, sorry but waterfox is a third-party product and not provided by mozilla. if you are having questions about it, you'd have to contact the support channels they are offeringinstead: https://www.waterfoxproject.org/#support thank you for your understanding!
