When I double click on an email in my inbox, it opens as a reply email from me to me in a "write" format with the only option to "send". The yellow warning at the bottom reads: A unique identity matching the From address was not found. The message will be sent using the current field and settings for identity Vince Walker with my email address. If I instead right click on the email in my inbox and ask to open in another tab it appears correctly with correct sender and options to reply reply all etc. How do I fix this? I have rebooted Thunderbird and my computer. Vince

In Windows 11, the Address Book is accessed via an icon on top left of the TB main page or Alt+2. In Windows 11 is there a similar key combination to view the folders below Local Folders?

Hi! I have added an e-mail account to my Thunderbird and the support by the e-mail delivery says that I should just log in as it was an office365-account. I have done that and I can read the incoming mail, but it is not possible to answer or write a new message. I´ve tried different ways at the outgoing server, but always getting the same message: It was not possible to send the message. The message was not send because of the impermissible number of recipients (well, more or less - translated from swedish). So what to do? Y.S. Mikael Sanner

Hi, I Changed IMAP to POP3, rebuilt Inbox.MSF and it worked for a few hours. Now, I cannot get control of the Thunderbird screen (it is grayed out and "the wheel is turning") I've also tried to Shift click to start Thunderbird in Troubleshoot mode and checked both boxes. (I get control for approximately 15 seconds). I am running Windows 11 with 64 Gb of RAM and enough disk space. What should I do now?

BTW, I am an I/T professional, so you may use jargon in your response.

The task is to put a company logo icon instead of a folder icon, how to change the icon image for mail folders in Thunderbird? I read the topic https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1305856 and did as it says, created userChrome.css and toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheet changed 'True'. but no changes happened. specialFolder or localFolder both is okey. Version 128.5.0esr (64-bit)

I don't want the Thunderbird to download all messages from server. I want to "tell him" - Don't download messages where "From:" is "something@something.com".

Is this simple task is achivable in Thunderbird?

PS I don't care is it POP or IMAP. It doesn't matter. What matters is can I tell Thunderbird (maybe by filters) - don't download specified messages from server?

It has been asked several times already, but all threads seem to just be archived without any proper response. How can one set for all folders and all messages (not just new ones) the default view permanently to 'unthreaded'?

After my Thunderbird auto updated to 128.5.0esr I have trouble getting emails. The server times out, but if I click to retrieve quickly after that I get my emails. Server provider says their logs do not show any problem at their end.

A few weeks ago after an automatic update I ended up having Thunderbird version 131.0.1 installed, I have no idea how this happened. On opening I get a message telling me I shouldn't be using a beta version and that I should revert to the latest general release version (128.4)

Today when I had some free time I downloaded 128.4 and installed it. On opening it it says that I can't use a profile file from a later version with the earlier version. Is there a way to recover from this WITHOUT having to set up the whole profile again from scratch.

Meanwhile I have done a system restore so I am back with 131.0.1 It has not given me any problems so far. Is there a new general release version imminent that will get me back on track?

I would appreciate any help I am not a computer expert, just a user, and find Thunderbird a very good email client.

I recently had to change from Thunderbird to Apple Mail. I'm trying to move my local folders to iCloud, but I don't see any way to do that.

I'm using a MacBook Air on Sequoia.

Hi, from the bank account of my father (age 86) the amount 10,10 € is downloaded to payment with following info:

Account owner: Roháč Ján IBAN SKxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Card number: **************** VISA Location WWW.THUNDERBI, US

The payments are named "THUNDERBIRD EMAIL". I suspect he subsribed something by mistake.

Can you help us to identify the purpose of payment and how to cancel it?

Please, if possible send the answer (or CC) to jan@rohac.net, I am his son and he is not very skilled in using computer.

On 02-Nov-24 my Thunderbird installation on a windows 10 PC and a separate installation on a windows 11 laptop both crash on start up with no ability to start in safe mode etc and therefore no way of diagnosing. As a temporary measure on my PC I have put all the T-bird files in a safe place deleted the application and re-installed a fresh application with a new profile and the added back some of my email accounts.

It is not ideal because all my preferences, tags etc have all gone and some of the new defaults settings on the fresh installation are not good. I would like to be able to go back to my old profile with a version of T-bird that works.

Does anyone know what was going on on 02-Nov-24 that would have caused this? How can I re-instate my old profile?
