ics meeting invitations do not appear as attachments
I am using TB 31.7.0 on a MacBook Pro running the latest version of Yosemite. I use BusyCal as my calendar software (although I think that is not relevant to the problem I am experiencing).
When people send me an email with an ICS meeting invitation attached, the attachment does not arrive. I get the email but there is no attachment. So I always have to send a reply and ask them to manually type the meeting details into an email, and then send it to me. It appears that this problem occurs when meeting invitations are generated with Outlook. (That's a guess on my part.)
I've read through the forums to try to find a solution to this problem, and I haven't been able to find it.
Any suggestions?

Sorry frustration is showing :)
Yes you use the full gmail address.
please click here IF this link takes you to the same place in your gmail account as it does in mine you will see the following about the middle of the page.
The calendar ID that is shown there is truly what goes in the caldav endpoint. for your first calendar is is your email address. Subsequent calendars this changes
I suggest you create an event on the gmail calendar for today. When you complete the setup, having it appear in Lightning will be evidence of success.

If the link to the calendar setting I posted above does not work (let me know if it does not. People get confused enough sometimes )
Go to your calendar at Google select the drop down box beside i's name on the left Select Calendar settings
Then you should be on the page the graphic is extracted from

Make sure to go to the calendar tab after your done and delete the local calendar. Otherwise the correct calendar might not get your meeting accepts.

Woohooo! It finally worked. The links in your reply immediately above did not work. I don't get anything that looks like the screen shots that you showed. But I entered the https address for the CalDAV endpoint in the calendar set-up window (using my gmail address), and then followed all the rest of the steps and voila!, it now works.
Thanks again for your help and your patience. You really went above and beyond the call of duty to help me out.
