I have Firefox on two Windows computers and was wondering what is the proper way to sync them.

One computer is not used often and I want to sync Firefox on it it with the Firefox on the computer I use daily so I want the Firefox that does not have the updated files updated using the Firefox data files on the computer I use daily and not the other way around. So what is the correct procedure to do this other than to make sure the Firefox program version is updated on the computer that is not used often?

Hi, I have a virtual synth called Omnisphere. I open Firefox and go to YouTube, and I'll select a video to play. (I typically do this so I can use the Omnisphere synth to play along to for practicing my keyboard skills. YouTube will play just fine, but when I open Omnisphere, then try to play the YouTube video simultaneously, YouTube will just hang and won't play. I close Omnisphere and YouTube will play fine again. I know you'll think this is an issue with my virutal synth Omnisphere, but the strange thing is, that that same company makes another virtual synth called Keyscape, and when I try playing Keyscape and YouTube together, it works just fine. To me, this seems to be some kind of sharing issue, and likely a sharing setting of some kind. The audio settings in both Omnisphere and Keyscape are identical, so why would one work, but not the other?. I couldn't find any kind of virtual device sharing settings in Firefox or YouTube. The company that makes these virtual instruments has told me that it works fine with Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, that's why I'm leaning towards the browser being the issue. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks very much, I appreciate it.

A recent update apparently causes FF to add ".htm" when saving a text file that has no extension. It didn't used to do this. The file being downloaded has no extension. It is a hash text file used to verify my ownership of a domain during SSL cert renewal. I can save without an extension if I delete the extension and surround the filename with quotes. But that is a pain. Other browsers don't require this. How do I get my old FF behavior back?

Years ago we used a program called A&M Deadlink to clean up dead bookmarks in FireFox. What is the latest tool for deleting old bookmarks, removing dead ones and cleaning up?

I just discovered today that when I click on a YouTube short and select open in new tab there are two sound streams playing about 3 seconds out of sync. This happened on my work machine today and on my home machine. When I switch to the Chrome browser this did not happen.

• I saved the link, "https://www.papeg.ai"
• Now, I cannot archive or delete the link. I also cannot edit the assigned tags.
• Basically, the link is frozen.
• I would very much like to remove the link from my saves.
• Any help or information would be appreciated.

I use linux mint older version, with firefox latest versions. A problem has been developing where after clicking a search link, a page pops up warning of possible phishing site. usually i clicked proceed and was taken to the website, but now am taken to a blank page or 404"cannot be found." Of course the page exists but i cannot get there. the url is a smartredirect.de... always. How do I get rid of this redirect app?

I have to use ctrl - many time to see everything on my screen. I promise, I didn't change anything, just updated. I'm not super literate about things like this and my IT husband has gone onto his next adventure. I'm hoping for a simple fix. Thanks.

For the last several days, YouTube has been increasingly unusable. The most obvious hindrance is when playing/pausing a video, or attempting to adjust volume using the native control overlay on any video. It lags substantially, my cursor often disappearing entirely & attempting to pause or resume playback takes several seconds.

Using Firefox's task manager, YouTube is monopolizing roughly 2-3 GB of RAM when playback is paused, and CPU consumption will range from 0-95% - when playing a video/utilizing the tab, it tends to stay reliably closer to 50-100%. I have also run Firefox Profiler while resuming and pausing a video, which is here: Profiler Data. I am not particularly literate with this kind of data though, so I have no comment on its contents.

My extensions, by comparison, average roughly 500 MB and no more than 1% CPU utilization at any given time. I do use uBlock Origin, as well as Tab Session Manager, cookies.txt, Honey, Fakespot, Ruffle, and TWP.

I am sure this is far more of a YouTube problem than a Firefox problem, but are there solutions available? I have seen discussions on other platforms regarding the issue, but it seems like solutions are in short supply - telling YouTube to bias in favor of AV1/VP9 had no impact, and I'm hesitant to download more extensions to attempt to bandaid the issue.

Hi There. Please can someone try to help me..

I know VERY little about computers. I have windows 8.1 and firefox. All works perfectly and always has.

I do NOT have any other "devices" I am disabled and cannot use a telephone so do not have one, well, only the old sort i use to get one time passcodes.

In the last few days, everytime i have had to make a payment to anywhere, i have had the onetime passcode "authentification" thingy pop up from Mastercard. Not a problem, works perfectly.

Enter virgin media..

When i try to pay their bill, the "authentification" thing does not load properly and hence it is impossible to proceed. Virgin media are worse than useless and insist it is something wrong with my computer. If that is the case, why does every other website on the entire internet work properly then, apart from theirs..

Anyone got any ideas??
