I am checking i can back up and restore correctly. ( before a disaster and it is too let to test )

I have copied the TB file from appdata etc to a seperate drive to save. When i completely remove TB from my pc and then download a fresh version , i copy the backed up TB file over to the appdata TB file. This seems to restore my old incoming emails , but it doesn't restore my old sent emails. Any advice on what i am doing wrong guys ? TIA PS im using pop3.

The simplest approach is this: - exit thunderbird - IMPORTANT - copy the appdata\roaming\thunderbird folder elsewhere - after installing the new thunderbird, be sure to EXIT - copy the backedup thunderbird folder to overlay the existing appdata\roaming\thunderbird folder - all messages will be there

Comment: if you are just installing latest version, the backup/restore is not needed (although I do it for safety.)
