I'm sorry, I may be misunderstanding you question, but heres what it sounds like to me. You want to be able to delete the history suggestions of recent tabs in the "Menu" section. If that is what you want, there is an option that will let you clear recent history. Check out the screenshot. For some reason your links aren't loading for me, I think its a problem with my network. To delete your recent history, go to menu>history and second from the top will be "Clear recent history".

It should be, open the History Manager, mark what you want, right click and delete. What happens when you do this?

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

I just noticed my screenshots got all messed up, and my inquiry needs to be clarified more.

Unlike in old firefox versions where I could simply delete history from the dropdown menu.

So my question is: How do I bring this deletion function back?

These are not the History Manager. The first is the Config Manager,

To open the History Manager. Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Then select History. Hot key is <Control>(Mac:<Command>) <Shift> H.

Use the search box top right.
