ongoing spell check errors
I have asked this question within the last couple weeks-no reply. Thunderbird spell checker (check while typing) , it will snag a word that is correct because somehow it misses the first letter. Correction (with no other action) then will give you a misspelt word again as the first letter is doubled. When sorted moments later the same word will be half snagged as misspelt ie again start-up letters in that word not seen by spell checker. Happens several time per email mostly. MARTIN looked at it but his reply was from a 'noreply' email. I am using Thunderbird 45.1.1 Thank you Alan

Email is not required nor used. Just follow the link in the notification email and it'll bring you back to the forum.
I can't replicate your issue so I don't know where to start with it. Is it any better behaved if you start Thunderbird in its Safe Mode?
I have same problem. Basically, if I type a word incorrectly, then backspace over the last part of the word until I reach the error, then type the word correctly, often TB red underlines everything after the correction as an error. It seems to think that I have inserted a space before the correction, and so flags that uncompleted end of the word as an error.
In June 2016 when I first snagged this problem, I got a partial answer from someone on this Forum, they could see that my issue of TB had a 'bug' but they couldn't pursue the problem. I tried to re enter the Forum to continue the discussion but the Forum web site said my Username had been 'sabotaged' and I couldn't get into the Forum. So I failed to follow this up. I stil have the spell checker problem. TOYVAN
