How do i get access to the urls in the dropdown box ?
To the right of the url locator bar (the place where the http url is shown at the top of the screen) is a yellow (or blank) star which creates a bookmark. To the right of that star, is a down-arrow. When you click it, several websites pop-up. However, I cannot tell if these are bookmarks, recent history, old history or what. I can find nothing that explains this little icon, and want to know how to gain access to the dropdown urls. Where are they stored ? How do I organise them ? Are they bookmarks, or something else ? It's driving me nuts !! Thanks, Tim.

They are a combination of your history and bookmarks (denoted by a star in the entry), see http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Location+bar+autocomplete#Settings to change that.
Finer control can be done as you type into the bar, see http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Location+bar+autocomplete#On_the_fly
How the entries appear in the dropdown is determined by a frecency calculation, covered at https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Places:Awesomebar
So they aren't something you manually organise.
thanks, "anonymous", I'll check these out. tim
Hi, I have checked out the links you recommended, but I don't think this is what I am referring to. The autocomplete dropdown box with entries in, relates to the "frecency" algorithm - this I now understand., However, clicking on the extreme RH little down arrow, brings up a completely different (and rarely changing) list of urls. It doesn't seem to me that this dropdown box, which you have to click to show, is the same as the automatically generated dropdown list. So I am still none the wiser about this dropdown list, and I still don't know what it is called. Unless you or someone can explain further... thanks tim
