I cannot access my "Trash" folder in my email. I get the "thunderbird is not responding". I've tried over a dozen times closing the program, and rebooting multiple of times. My wife's thunderbird email account is normal.

What is your anti-virus software? What is the size of your Trash folder?
You can try to right-click Trash in the folder pane - Empty Trash. This will remove all messages in Trash.
