Firefox not only crashes, so does my computer.
The only way to keep my computer from crashing is to keep Adobe Flash Player uninstalled and many sites won't even open if it isn't installed. It does the same thing with IE.
This is what I’ve found out so far; Quote “Flash player is not currently supported in 64 bit browsers. You can run Flash player in a 32 bit browser running on a 64-bit operating system. For more information, see the TechNote on the Adobe Incorporated website;” End quote.
Mozilla/Firefox says it is the plug in that's at fault and it's the responsibility of the plug-in developers. I feel that if the program needs to be used in Firefox then I say it is Firefox's responsibility to get onto Adobe to make sure the program works in Firefox. Until this issue is resolved there are going to be many more disgruntled browser users.
Granted! The new Firefox no longer crashes directly; but, the plug in it uses just crashes your computer which ultimately closes/crashes Firefox.

If you are having that much trouble with Flash crashing Windows, you might have a problem with Windows or with your PC (hardware related).
We can try to help you with Firefox crashes (when you provide the Crash Report IDs's), and Adobe support can probably help you with Flash crashes, but if your problems go as far as BSOD's and Windows crashing regularly, you should seek out a Windows support forum.
I started getting BSOD after installing a recent Flash Player update. I always use Flashblocker, but when I clicked to see the video, my computer would crash. I could still see videos in IE though. I'd also recently updated Firefox to the lastest version, so I didn't know if that was causing it or Flashplayer. Well, I installed a previous version of Firefox, but that didn't fix it. So I uninstalled Flash Player (using their uninstaller) and then installed a previous version (found here: http://www.oldapps.com/flash_player.php). The one from June 11, 2010. And guess what? No more crashes! So it was the latest Flash Player update that was causing me problems. I hope this helps others too.
I know it's Adobe Flash related because once it it was removed there have been no more crashes. I only get bugged constantly with mesgs about upgrading it, and/or notices from sites that content isn't viewable with ought it. Fazermint? will this older program work with 64 bit systems? I think that this is my whole problem, as I often got messages that the version I was installing wasn't compatible with 64 b systems. at this point I would rather struggle with ought it than with it.
Sorry jawn, I don't know if it'll work with 64 bit systems. But it's simple to uninstall if it doesn't.
About the messages they send to upgrade, I took care of that by going to the Flash website and turning off the automatic upgrades setting. That's the only way to stop those notifications.
Hi! Fazermint!
Downloaded from the site you provided and as you say it can be easily uninstalled.
Also! That is some valuable advice about going to the website and turning off auto upgrade/update settings. I didn't know this. I'm going to try this out for other nuisance reminders to see if they work that way too. If so, it will be a godsend. Thank you so much.
