I recently installed MES could this be the reason for "problem loading page" File not found notification.
I also just updated Firefox.
Any ideas

Hello jorb,
What is the error message you receive upon visiting those sites? What is MES?
File not found
Firefox can't find the file at [http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/1929_57chevyparts/57cmpc0590.htm.
Check the file name for capitalization or other typing errors.
Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.
Try Again
What is MES? Sorry Typo , MSE Microsoft Security Essentials
Thanks

The first link you provided under Clearing Firefox's cookies and cache Fixed the problem.
The reason it took so long is I only checked the cookies box and clicked on clear now the problem was in the cache. Once cache was cleared the paged open correctly.
What was corrupted in the cache that interfered with opening that particular page? Will this happen again?
Thanks

I personally do not keep history, cookies, cache, passwords, etc., in Firefox; it is just my personal decision/preference. I also close and re-open Firefox occasionally throughout the day to "clear the trash".
There is no single answer to your question. Something got jumbled in the cache files. Yes, it may happen again. You might want to occasionally clear the cache manually or clear the cache automatically on closing Firefox:
- Manually: Firefox button > Options > Options (or Tools > Options) > Advanced > Network > (Cached Web Content) Clear Now
- On closing Firefox: Firefox button > Options > Options (or Tools > Options) > Privacy > [x] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings > [x] Cache
- Be careful what you check to clear when closing Firefox; once it is cleared there is no retrieval
- See --> https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History#w_how-do-i-make-firefox-clear-my-history-automatically
