Version 128.5.1esr seems to have eliminated many shortcuts. For instance, there is no right click option to delete one or multiple messages any more, and there are no shortcut buttons (such as "Unread") at the top of the message screen. Is there any way to get these back?

Nov 2024 - How Do I disable Threads in the Email folders?

My Inbox I think I somehow disabled, but my SENT folder....still has them. Please help. I HATE this as a default setting that can not be turned off...Universally..(in all folders)

Hello, I upgraded to your 'unstable' version of Mozilla Thunderbird for email last year. The past few months it has been taking as much as 5 minutes before it opens up to the home page (in box). And in the past few weeks, the New Message icon top left of home screen has disappeared. So, I can only send emails to people who are already in my inbox, and trash box, by clicking on reply. I can't send an email to a new person that I want to email for the first time ever.

Is it possible to go back to the old version of Thunderbird? How would I do that, and would I lose all the emails currently in my inbox, and in my Files?

I have been using Thunderbird for many, many years now and been happy with it.

However last 6 months or so, it has been constantly crashing, often several times a day. Crash reports almost never get sent as it says there is a technical error.

Using a HP Spectre 360 (7 years old) with Windows 10. All windows updates have been applied, and constantly virus checked etc. No other programs giving me grief like Thunderbird which is the most important program. Before Thunderbird I used Eudora which was also great. Always regretted changing to Thunderbird.

I am now over it and Thunderbird. How do I transfer all my emails, attachments etc going back 10-12 years or so to a new email program.

Any suggestions regarding a better email client. Don't want to use Outlook. Have been looking at Proton Mail.

i been with thurderbird for 9 years. i just got a new computer and had my files tranfered to my new computer. first i couldent open thurderbird.i made a donation. do i thought that would help.no luck.i am 88 years old.i gusess iwill have to find new email place thank you .

I've been using Thunderbird for a very long time, supporting it's development with modest contribution. Until recently everything went smoothly when sending a message (I use 2 email accounts). However since a couple of weeks, there seems to be a delay when ever I send an email. Usually I was able to send a mail and keep working through my other mails. But this seems not to be the case anymore; Once I've clicked on sent (which is instant) I wanna to work/read other emails a message appears (TB does not reply anymore) and then only 5 seconds later I can keep scrooling through my list. It's strange. Any idea where this comes from. Many thanks for your answers. Stefan

I have about six emails and would like to find them all on Thunderbird. These include iCloud, gmail, design.net.au, and outlook. I find managing the installation difficult. Any ideas to simplify this process?

I have not changed my email accounts or my Google & Microsoft usernames or passwords. A few days ago when I started Thunderbird, two Google pop-ups arrive reading "Mozilla Thunderbird Email wants to access your Google Account" demanding that I deny or allow it. Why might this be happening and how do I stop it? This does not occur with other email apps such as Outlook for Windows.

Hi, I am trying to import an .mbox file that I exported from gmail but continuously getting error "import failed unexpectedly, more information may be available in the error console". Can somebody help please? I have tried selecting different options but none of them work.

I am battling problems snoozing & dismissing notifications for my Calendars in Thunderbird.

In the console I am seeing lots of: `Calendar: Could not find definition for AUS Eastern Standard Time`

How does Thunderbird define timezones, and where can I correct this?

I am running 128.5.1esr and my calendar is Radicale 3.0.6.

A Pop-up entitled "Enter credentials for <my email> on imap.gmail.com" has appeared recently. This "page" headed "Google", says "Mozilla Thunderbird Email wants to access your google account. This will allow ...Thunderbird ... to Read, Compose, Send, and permanently delete all your email from Gmail". If I click the "Deny" button the same thing pops up and I cannot get to, not download any of my new emails.

It seems to me that if I "allow" this, it goes against all the privacy in Thunderbird settings and gives permission to take control of my account.

How do I get rid of this and get "back to normal" (this has only started in the las couple of weeks)?

I'm about ready to delete Thunderbird and try something else - this after 20-odd years of using Thunderbird with little or no problems.

Every time I open Thunderbird, two windows appear asking me:

        Mozilla Thunderbird Email wants to access your Google Account

Until I click Allow, Thunderbird won't update my emails. I've several times gone to my Google account and deleted the connections between Thunderbird and that account, in the hope it would reset but to no avail.

How might I fix this?

Dear Sirs, I got a letter about a donation to support Thunderbird and I payed 200 SEK. I was connected to https://updates.thunderbird.net/sv-SE/thunderbird/128.0/nov24/

Is it OK? Or did I a mistake?

I'm stuck in an endless loop with T-Bird this morning – each time I try to open T-Bird, I get the "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Thunderbird. Do you want to reboot now?" popup.

Yes, I do want to reboot. And I've done it four times already. And each time I reboot, I get the same popup.

So ... what is the workaround? What is the fix?

I'm using Windows, and whatever the browser version of T-Bird is. I would tell you which version, but I can't open my email program.

Unable to login to my Gmail via Thunderbird 128.5.1esr (64-bit) on Win11 (x64). I'm using OAuth2 and the google mail SMTP servers that autopopulate once I type my gmail address. The google login window pops up in a new window within Thunderbird & upon logging in via my Security Key nothing happens. The Security Key PIN gets accepted and the google login screen just sits and waiting for security key login. After I close the Google Login window Thunderbird says "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password.

Unable to add Gmail account(s) with 2FA Security Key. Login window shows up, I enter my PIN & nothing happens. See attached screenshot for the screen I get stuck at after entering my PIN.

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, seit gestern kann ich keine E-Mails bei Thunderbird mehr empfangen oder versenden. Es kommt die Meldung: "Der Server ist ausgefallen oder es gibt Netzwerkprobleme." Bis Sept. 2024 war ich bei "1und" und bin ab Okt. 2024 wegen Umstellung auf Glasfaser bei BBV-TONI. Was kann ich tun? Wie kann die Störung behoben werden?
