Can you share the solution in case it is useful to other users?
I found the answer from another post back in 2018 from Jeff Moritz

Kind Regards Gee
So the fix only works until you reboot the PC. Then nothing.
So may I ask again for some help.
Regards Gee
Hi Gee, could you walk me through it? What happens when you click a link in a message:
- no response from Firefox => same with right-click > Open Link in New Tab?
- new tab opens, but it is blank => does the address bar show the expected final destination or an address on https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/ ?
- new tab opens, an error page displays => what does it say?
So I click the link and nothing happens. The link turns from blue to purple, but nothing more. No page opens in the Firefox browser.
If you use the right-click context menu, do any of the "Open Link in" options work?
You can try to redo the default browser setting and temporarily set another browser as the default browser. If that doesn't help then try to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. When you are on Windows 10 then make sure to set another browser as the default browser before uninstalling Firefox.
I think I was confused by your reference to Outlook 365. I was envisioning the web-based product (https://outlook.office.com/ or https://outlook.office365.com/). If you are using the Outlook app in the desktop Office product (Outlook 2016 or Outlook 2019), my references to right-clicking the link are not applicable, obviously!

Go to that message, and use the Undo link to its right.
I am using MS Office 365, Outlook on Win 10 Home Edition.
