my new messages are not showing up in the inbox. Thunderbird 'creates a file' and sends it to Profiles/sizzquuo.default/imapMail/....... which I cannot access.

My new emails are not showing up in my INBOX. Instead, Thunderbird is 'creating a file' each time. Looking at my account information, new emails are going into Profiles/sizzquuo.default/imapMail/pop......... Is there a way to reroute new emails to INBOX? Thank you.

The correct directory name is Users/myname/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles..... This should be added to my original email that reads "My new emails are not showing up in my INBOX. Instead, Thunderbird is 'creating a file' each time. Looking at my account information, new emails are going into Profiles/sizzquuo.default/imapMail/pop......... Is there a way to reroute new emails to INBOX? Thank you.
