How can I go back to firefox 22?
Firefox updated itself to 23 a week ago and I can't take it anymore. Crashing, BSODs, only when I'm browsing and only in FF - IE is fine but I hate IE.
I've read some in the support forums and I don't want to deactivate flash, hw acceleration... I shouldn't have to alter my default HW settings to make it so a browser doesn't crash my PC
It always ran fine on 22. So how can I just go back to 22 and NOT have firefox update itself without asking me?
heh... it's happened so often that now, when my screen starts flashing on & off (the sign of an impending BSOD), I ctrl+alt+del to start task manager as fast as I can and kill firefox. Only way to prevent a BSOD.

For now you can revert back to fx 22, but also consider that firefox is updating to firefox 23.0.1 that fixes many crashes.
Disabling Firefox's use of hardware acceleration doesn't affect any other applications. It may be needed in Firefox 22 as well, if an update to your graphics card drivers exposed a preexisting incompatibility in Firefox...
In case you need this:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
It will take effect after you restart Firefox.
Thank you both for your replies.
This PITA prompted me to finally throw in a SSD and start anew with a fresh install of win7x64, all windows and driver updates completed.
I just reinstalled FF23 and have disabled the HW acceleration as per your suggestion. I've been online for a 1/2hr now without issue so I'm optimistic.
Thanks again!
