Up to a few days ago, when someone sent me a meeting invitation by email, I could accept it on my Thunderbird email app (on my windows 11 laptop) and it would be added to my Thunderbird calendar. When I would open an email invitation, there was always a line/bar that would appear below the subject line that would say "this message contains an invitation to an event" on the left side and then buttons with "accept" "tentative" "decline" on the right side of that line. This line/bar no long appears in email event/meeting invitations. On my windows 11 Laptop with Thunderbird version 128.2.1esr (64) bit, that line/bar no longer appears and I can no longer accept event/meeting requests sent to me by email. I could do this before, and I have an example from my old windows 10 laptop using Thunderbird version 115.15.0 (32 bit). Did something change with a new Thunderbird update? Or do I need to change some setting in my Thunderbird version 128.2.1esr (64 bit) app? See attached example of meeting requests received by email on both versions of Thunderbird. The email from the 115 version shows that event line/bar the email from the 128 version doesn't. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Well. Had my own mail server for going on 25 years. But i decided to switch my mail over to proton mail using my domain. I just cannot justify the server cost for only email. So anyway in Thunderbird i had google smtp and my servers smtp so i could send mail from different accounts. when switching over to proton i went to delete my old server smtp server info leaving only the google smtp server. Then i tried to add a new smtp server with the data protonmail provided and clicked save and it refuses to add a second smtp server. I am stumped as i tried to readd my old smtp server and it will not allow me to add that either. any ideas ?

I am experiencing an issue where the "Send to -> Mail recipient" option is missing from the context menu in Windows, despite having Mozilla Thunderbird set as my default email client. Steps to reproduce the issue:
I have set Thunderbird as my default email client in Windows 11. MAILTO links work correctly when triggered from a browser or PowerShell (e.g., start-process "mailto:test@example.com" opens Thunderbird as expected). However, the "Mail recipient" option is completely missing from the "Send to" context menu.
Additional troubleshooting:
I have verified that MAILTO is associated with Thunderbird in the Windows default apps settings. The registry keys under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\command are set to: "C:\Path\To\Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -osint -compose "%1" I have recreated the Mail recipient.MAPIMail shortcut in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo pointing to Thunderbird. I have reinstalled Thunderbird and checked MAPI compatibility, but the issue persists. Running rundll32.exe url.dll,MailToProtocolHandler test@example.com successfully opens Thunderbird.
Observations:
The issue seems isolated to the context menu functionality. The "Mail recipient" shortcut does not appear in the context menu at all, even after manually creating the Mail recipient.MAPIMail file in the SendTo folder.
Could you please help me resolve this issue? Are there any additional settings or configurations I need to adjust to restore the "Send to -> Mail recipient" option for Thunderbird?

MT new installation - does not remember passwords despite checking the "checkbox" in the IMAP account. This also applies to Google accounts for calendar (non-IMAP account). The password manager is empty. After restarting MT, the same.

Przenosząc maile do pod folderów (robię to, by mieć porządek na poczcie), giną te maile w powietrzu. Przez długi czas ich nie ma, nie widać. Jeśli potrzebuję się odnieść do przeniesionego maila, to nie mogę, bo go nie ma. Proszę o pomoc, bo to trwa zbyt długo i bardzo utrudnia pracę. Również maile, które się wysyłają, nie zapisują się automatycznie w "wysłanych". Muszę zaznaczyć zapisz w lokalne foldery wysłane. Ta poczta to jakiś dramat, same problemy od samego początku!

I'm unable to send any email with Thunderbird on my new Windows11 laptop. I've used Thunderbird for years and years on the old Windows10 one, but it won't send anything with the new one. The version info it gives is "128.5.1esr (64-bit)" Whenever I try to send an email message, it waits a long long time and then gives a popup saying "Login to server smtp.mail.yahoo.com with username bill.marshall@verizon.net failed." It gives me an option to enter a new password, and if I click there it doesn't let me enter the password again, just re-tries, again waits a long long time, then gives the same error popup. When I cancel, it gives a new popup saying to check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in Account Settings. Authentication method looks fine, but the password (Settings->SavedPasswords) is empty (?? But I entered the password when I started Thunderbird and asked it to save it).

I'm having trouble with Thunderbird on my new Windows11 laptop. I've used Thunderbird for years and years on the old Windows10 one, but can't get it to work right on the new one. The version info it gives is "128.4.4esr (64-bit)"
Specifically two problems. (1) Every time it starts it asks for my yahoo server's password. Even though I check the box asking it to remember it, it doesn't. Under Settings->Privacy&Security (under Passwords)->SavedPasswords, the list is empty. (2) Second problem (may be same as first, but in a different form) Whenever I try to send an email message, it fails. I have been receiving emails for my butlerfamilia@aol.com account on my pc, via Thunderbird, and on my ipad. Now both devices are saying the password is invalid. I have gone to the AOL website and changed the password and can receive emails at mail.aol.com. I have gone back to thunderbird and folllowed instructions to change the pw by deleting in settings and restarting Thunderbird and entering the new pw that AOL Mail recognises. But Thunderbird still says the pw is not valid. Any suggestions ?

I am sparingly receiving e-mail and, I can't send any e-mail. My ISP said, given the error code I was getting, when I tried to send, that. The problem was with Thunderbird.
