Image signature preventing any other attachment from displaying/paper clip. How to fix this?
We have a coworker who receives my emails can not see any attachments. This is only for my emails and no other coworker. We have figured out it has to do with the image signature. If I delete it before sending, she can see my attachments. I have tried a few different formats, jpeg, png, gif, to see if that would make a difference. They don't. If I send a plain email with no image signature, she can see everything. We need to fix this please!

Can you offer more info about the image signature?
How did you create the signature ? Did you do this : How to create signature with image.
- click on 'Write' to open new write message
- Select all formatting even if already auto selected by default settings.
- Type signature eg: Regards and name
- 'Insert' > 'Image'
- Select: 'Attach this image to the message'
- click on 'Choose file' button
- locate an image you created that has been saved in a folder on your computer eg: Documents\Signature Folder - not saved in any Thunderbird folder.
- Click on 'Open' - Image should be shown in the small 'Image preview' box.
- Select: 'Don't use alternate text' or type in 'alternate text'
Adjust the dimensions of image to suit
- Click on 'Dimensions' tab
- Select: 'Custom size' and 'Constrain'
- Change width to eg: 200 pixels - Height is auto adjusted
Set image to be a clickable link (if required)
- Click on 'Link' tab
- Enter url: eg: http://www.anje.co.uk
- Click on 'OK' to insert the image.
- Save file to a folder on computer. You will need to select "HTML Files" in the "Save as type" list box. It must be saved as HTML file.
- Close the Write window.
Attach the HTML signture file:
- Tools > Account Settings of mail account
- Select ; 'Attach the signature frm a file instead'
- Clickon 'Choose' button
- locate the html signature file and click on 'Open'
- Click on 'OK'
Are you able to send emails with signature to everyone else except the one person? Do you send in both html and Plain Text? check here: 'Tool' > 'Options' > 'Composition' > General' tab
- click on 'Send Options' button
- select: 'Send the message in both Plain Text and HTML'
- click on OK
- click on OK
I presume the co-worker is in your Thunderbird address book. Check this:
- click on 'Address Book'
- select the address book with co-worker as contact
- double click on the contact to open Edit contact window.
- 'Contacts' tab
- 'Prefers to receive messages formatted as ; select 'Unknown' and this will send both types in the email.
- click on OK
- close Address Book.
Did you need to make any alterations to contact details? Does your co-worker also use Thunderbird to read emails - if no, then what does she use...webmail...Outlook etc?
I create the signature by going Tools>Account Settings>Attach the signature from a file instead. I am not creating a signature each time in an email. I want it to be automatic. Does it need to be HTML? PNG? JPEG?
My co-worker is the only one who doesn't receive additional attachments. Example: if I put a PDF and a JPG in there, if the signature is in the email, those attachments won't send. I checked the Address Book to make sure it was UNKNOWN.
My co-worker is using the mail that comes with Windows 10. After doing some trial-and-error, we figured out the signature was the problem.
You have attached a HTML file correctly.
But...Did you create that HTML file using the method I stated above.? Did you create the html file in a Thunderbird Write window or did you use some other software ?
Could you send me a test email, so I can check the coding. Email: mail at anje dot co dot uk

Sorry - I tried to paste the code. We used a and text in case the entire picture came across as malicious script with text in the photo. It didn't work.
I didn't use the Write Window. I went into Tools>Account Settings. That is where the signature is stored.
I just sent the test email
re :I didn't use the Write Window. I went into Tools>Account Settings. That is where the signature is stored.
We do not seem to be on the same wave length :)
In 'Tools' > 'Account Settings' you can either use the 'Signature text': text box to insert a simple signature OR you choose 'Attach the signature from a file instead'
If you attached a file: I now know that you did not follow the usual method of creating a HTML file using Thunderbird Write window, because you would have instantly known what I was referring to. So, did you either create a HTML file ? or are you simply adding a jpg image which contains all the info? Is that image stored on your computer?
Sorry, but i've not received any emails from you. Email: mail at anje dot co dot uk. Or go to this website page and get email address in top right corner. http://www.anje.co.uk

How widespread is this problem? For example:
- Is your co-worker using the same version of Thunderbird you are?
- If you send yourself the same message, can you see the attachments? How about if you send it to other co-workers, can they see the attachments?
Received email and it all looks as intended.
Q: Is that image actually stored on your computer? I'm wondering if it is stored elsewhere like in cloud storage etc?
Send email to co-worker with signature but do not attach an attachments. When co-worker receives email with signature: Does she see the image or does she get a broken image with red 'X' ?

The signature is on my desktop. The co-worker sees the signature but she can't see any other attachments such as a word doc, PDF, or image. When the signature is removed, she can see the other attachments. She has never seen my signature with an attachment added. It is just blank.
