Why does Firefox not return to the previous location on the Fox News home page when I read an article and then go back to Fox News Home page?

When I select an article from FoxNews.com and go to that article, then I hit the back button in the FireFox browser, it takes me back to the top of the FoxNews home page - not the place where I left off. No other browser does this - only Firefox. What's wrong?

When you follow a link, and then go back, the page may have been reloaded. This loses your place. I get around this by; Right-click the link and select Open In New Tab/Window. Once you are done, close that tab/window, and you are back where you started.

You can even do this with links from the new pages.

Thanks FredMcD. That works for me....it's a little unfortunate because IE and Chrome don't work this way on this website. Not sure what the hitch is for FF. But I'll take your suggestion. I do that when I think of it but forget it sometimes. Thanks again.

I have this problem unfortunately with Google which I use extensively! Opening a link in a new Tab is what I do sometimes, but I don't consider it a solution! IE (and Chrome as stated above) does not behave this way with Google. So, this is clearly a Mozilla Firefox problem. So, I -- and all Firefox users fo, I believe -- would like to know the reason why this is happening (with Firefox and not with other browsers) and why it can't be resolved. (Note: I'm using Firefox version 51.0.1 but this problem is carried on from quite long ago.)

OK, but the question is why this phenomenon does not happen with Internet Explorer and Google Chrome???
