New link will not open - home page opens instead

more options

I have defined'a home page '. If I open a new link it will not open in a new tab or another page just the home page will show - then I have to open a new tab, go back to the link and then the link will open in this new tab

Is there an easier way so that the link will open in a new page or a new tab

Thank you

Is this a problem with:

  • clicking a link in a page already displayed in Firefox (internal link)
  • clicking a link in a different application that then calls up Firefox (external link)

There are several ways. If these don't work, please explain the problem.

Open in a new tab: Click the middle mouse button on the link. or right-click and select Open New Tab or New Window.

Some other Mac users have reported this, too. When there are no open Firefox windows, clicking an external link opens a Firefox window but not the linked page. Firefox on Mac works differently than Windows, so I confess that I haven't paid close attention to those threads. Hopefully someone more familiar with Mac can offer a better workaround than "keep a Firefox window open/minimized".
