Complete Reset Saved Passwords/Master Password

more options

Can someone tell me which files I have to delete to completely reset the password system:

Thunderbird has completely broken and I cannot access any of my accounts; I was using a Master Password to manage my passwords but it has crashed and I can not

- see saved passwords (error: Timestamp: 21/04/2015 9:27:01 PM; Error: this._storage is null; Source File: resource://gre/components/nsLoginManager.js) Line: 284 - reset or set a Master Password (no error just message :unable to change Master Password)

Error Console gives the following for manual access to each account:

Timestamp: 21/04/2015 9:24:37 PM Error: this._storage is null Source File: resource://gre/components/nsLoginManager.js Line: 323

On startup I get the following for each account:

Timestamp: 21/04/2015 9:25:35 PM Error: [Exception... "Initialization failed'Initialization failed' when calling method: [nsILoginManagerStorage::init]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "JS frame :: resource://gre/components/nsLoginManager.js :: LoginManager.prototype._storage :: line 98" data: no] Source File: resource://gre/components/nsLoginManager.js Line: 98

This article tells you how to reset the master password if it is forgotten. A side effect of this reset is that saved email passwords are erased.

Hi Airmail,

Thanks for the reply; unfortunately this did not work either :-(

The problem persists. I did get the following error message in the Console:

[object ChromeWindow] Login Manager: Removing all logins Login Manager: No alternate nsILoginManagerStorage registered PwMgr cryptoSDR: Initializing key3.db with default blank password. PwMgr mozStorage: Initialization failed: [Exception... I am not sure what all that means or what to tell you to do from here. Maybe someone else will come along with a suggestion.
