Thunderbird doesn't recognize my icloud mail folders for synchronizing. This has just started after working fine.
Suddenly TB stopped synchronizing with my iCloud folders after working fine. Tried deleting the account and reinstalling, still won't recognize the icloud folders, even when I go into advanced settings to do it manually.
Help appreciated. David

The process is synchronization, Thunderbird synchronizes into oblivion if it can not connect to the server. Password, network issues or even the server being down can all cause it..

Well there is no hope of fixing the original problem or identifying it as the account was deleted. (bit like fixing a blown wiper fuse in your car by buying a new car or driving a tack with an 8 pound hammer)
Now we have an issue of "I am having trouble adding a new account." But it appears you can but some folders are not being synchronized.
So lets get some real basics out of the way. Can you receive mail on this new account? or did you manage to create a completely non functional account? Are the folders visible in iCloud? When you right click the folder in the folder pane and select subscribe, are the folders shown? are they subscribed?
Thanks, Matt!
Subscribe was what I couldn't remember. That did the trick.
From what you're saying, this could have been accomplished without deleting and re-installing the account. The question, of course, is why did it suddenly shift in the first place?
At any rate your assistance is much appreciated.

This happens too often. It's damn frustrating, especially when you create filters. I've had to remove & re-add the iCloud account several times. There is no solution that is apparent on this post. What's wrong the with 'Subscribe' feature?? Does it take hours to take effect? What the hell? I subscribed to all the folders, (why do we even have to do that??) and none of the folders appeared. I closed Thunderbird, this most recent time, and when I reopened and waited, *SOME* folders are there. I went back to right-click menu on the iCloud account, and went to Subscribe again, and only about 8 folders were checked this time; I had to click all 70+ again. I closed Thunderbird, reopened, and I'm waiting now.
- It seems to be working, every time I keep closing & reopening.

I don't need to re subscribe, connectivity comes back everything just restores but folders retrn as they are subscribed, so if lime many you have a hundred thousand emails in a folder you have to wait for each to be synchronized according to your settings before the next folder starts. Perhaps a better question is why is your internet connection failing to see this result?
