I have several email addresses with Thunderbird. When I open Niels.Wichmann@gmx.de a password is requested which I no longer know. Under privacy and security => saved passwords there is no imap for the account, smtp exists. I can access the account with my app on my cell phone. How can I set a new password or how do I get the password? I can display all other passwords.

How to permanently set line spacing to "Single Line Spacing" in emails, any online solutions do not work in Thunderbird version 128.5 64 bit.
I used to able to do this easily and effectively but with the new version of Thunderbird I don't seem to be able to get it to work.

To reiterate the problem, draft emails are save correctly into the 'Drafts' folder in both Thunderbird and the Gmail web app, but only Thunderbird will correctly delete the draft once the email has been sent. In the Gmail web app, the draft email remains in the 'Drafts' folder.
Why can't Gmail automatically delete draft emails that have been sent? Is there a solution?
I am using Thunderbird 128.5.1esr (64-bit) on Windows 11.
I want my emails in my inbox to be on 1 line. Now they are expanded to 3. Any thoughts?

I have 2 problems that I would like some help with. I have a dead email account I would like to delete. The company deleted their email server. I can delete my account but when Thunderbird gets shut down for any reason, the email account shows up again. I have even logged in as administrator and deleted the account. The account returned. If I log out of Thunderbird and log back in, the account returns. If I have a power failure, when I log back in, the account has returned. If I log out to do a re-start, the account returns. The second question is similar. I have an account that I can add and it works very well but if Thunderbird is shut down, it disappears. Then I have to put it back in. Putting the account in as "admin" does not help either. Yes, I can put it in as "admin", but it will disappear if Thunderbird is shut down. I have thought about changing all the information in the one account that I cannot delete to the information in the other account that I cannot keep to see if this is a workaround. I am afraid I will miss one little setting and have a mess. Ideas and suggestions are welcome.

I have a large amount of emails stored in a mail server (almost 22G), and the service will expire next month. So I want to use Thunder Bird to keep these emails in my local drive for later access. I am new to this software, and have a few questions. 1. Should I use IMAP or POP3 for my purpose? 2. Because it is a huge volume, I guess it may take several days to download all emails. Then, can I turn off Thunder Bird while it is downloading or pause the download process and resume later? What if the downloading process be interrupted due to internet disconnection, power failure or other reasons? Can the software resume where it leaves and ensure the integrity of all emails? I am in the process of linking my mail account via Thunderbird on my computer. However, I can no longer see my normal folder structure. However, if I link my account via my Android phone using the Thunderbird app, I have the option of selecting so-called special folders (see attachment screenshot 1). If I then select INBOX, my usual folder structure can be accessed again in the linked mail account on my phone (screenshot 2). Why don't I have this option in Thunderbird on my computer? Perhaps I thought I was using an outdated version of Thunderbird on my computer, but I cannot see the version number and cannot check whether I can update Thunderbird or not.

I’m having some trouble with Thunderbird and could use some guidance. I’ve been trying to install the latest version, but I keep running into issues. The installation either fails midway or gives an error message I can’t figure out.
Also, for the times when I’ve managed to install Thunderbird, I’ve noticed that updates don’t seem to apply properly. The program either doesn’t update automatically or prompts me to download the full installer again.
Could someone explain the proper steps for installing Thunderbird and ensuring updates are applied correctly? Are there any common pitfalls or settings I should check to avoid these issues?

I'm unable to send any email with Thunderbird on my new Windows11 laptop. I've used Thunderbird for years and years on the old Windows10 one, but it won't send anything with the new one. The version info it gives is "128.5.1esr (64-bit)" Whenever I try to send an email message, it waits a long long time and then gives a popup saying "Login to server smtp.mail.yahoo.com with username bill.marshall@verizon.net failed." It gives me an option to enter a new password, and if I click there it doesn't let me enter the password again, just re-tries, again waits a long long time, then gives the same error popup. When I cancel, it gives a new popup saying to check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in Account Settings. Authentication method looks fine, but the password (Settings->SavedPasswords) is empty (?? But I entered the password when I started Thunderbird and asked it to save it).
