How can I stop Firefox from setting a bookmark for every web page I open up?
Recently Firefox has started setting a bookmark for every web page I open. I have no desire to bookmark every page of news, weather or email message I read.

Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla before posting a question. This helps us help you.
Alert : You need to go through your list of Extensions 1 by 1 and google them and find the Firefox Extension page for each and look to see if they are Firefox Version 57 compatible. Save any info you need in the Extensions : Now. Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed when it updates soon, hours or days.
You will need replacements for Extensions that are not going to be updated: This seems to work well if there is a Firefox 57 compatible Extension. Can use google search terms : Firefox Extension <old extension name> Comparable
If you can get that done : Please make sure your video card drivers are updated. Old or corrupted drivers cause issues. New Engine uses CSS to render into pixels.
And I hope before you update, I want you to uninstall .....Yes to fix your issue so do not bring it along into ver 57.
So please uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved.
Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
