I am unable to fetch mails on the hotmail/outlook server. Its was working and has since stopped.

'''''''Sending of password for user xxxxx@hotmail.com did not succeed. Mail server pop3.live.com responded: Authentication failure: unknown user name or bad password.'''''''

I am able to login to the microsoft/outlook web portal and view the mails.

what is the issue and how do I over come this? I have tried creating app password from the microsoft web page, but no luck.

appreciate any help

thanks Raman

I suggest you update the account settings to use the server names Microsoft require. pop3.live.com is not it. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/pop-imap-and-smtp-settings-for-outlook-com-d088b986-291d-42b8-9564-9c414e2aa040

thank you for the response. as mentioned, I did receive messages when pop3.live.com was used but faced regular issues about password not correct or invalid credentials. I did change the server name to the recommended outlook.office365.com, but had the same issues. I made changes to the authentication method under security settings and after that so far I haven't seen the issue coming up and have been receiving the mails into the folder. I will keep my fingers crossed and hope this has fixed the problem.

thanks for your insights.
