Whenever I select an application besides the two listed in the "Open With" list of the Download dialog (see image for clarification), Firefox crashes. This happens with various types of media and various applications.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

I don't understand what you mean by "mark" them, but here are the numbers:

I upgraded to Firefox 48.0 today and this happened again after the upgrade.

I don't know Linux. I've called for more help.

I've now refreshed Firefox and still have this problem. I have version 50.1.0 now (latest stable version).

I've found that if I keep selecting the application I want (and allowing Firefox to crash again and again), the application eventually becomes the default choice.
