When I try to pay a video on line from our community website, it doesn't play. When I ask for properties/content, is indicates an old video (Nov_0002) that is no longer there. The current video is Oct08. This plays on a different computer correctly with Firefox.

Thank you for your response. I had tried the shift reload option before and have removed all history via Firefox/tools/options/clear recent history also control+shift+delete. The drop down menu shows: Browsing and download history (checked) Form and search history ( is checked but grayed out) Cookies (checked) Cache (checked) Active logins (not checked) Site preferences (not checked) Can you think of any other place to get rid of that old link? I had uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but the bookmarks etc were retained.

Which page do you get if you access that website via Google Translate with a random source language chosen?

Can you post a link?

Did you make sure that there isn't any post data appended to the link that you used in case you created a bookmark in the past?

I am not sure what you mean but Google Translate with a random source language but the link is http://www.poloparkhoa.com/socialvideo.html As a reminder, it does show on my Dell W7 notebook in Firefox and does show using IE in both this HP Pavilion desktop XP home and my old Dell XP home notebook but not using Firefox (my preference) in those XP machines. All SP/updates are current.

I attached a screen shot of the IE activities info and the XP activities info from this same computer.

Thank you for your attention. It is much appreciated. Syl

There are two different file names specified in the embed tag:

filename = "images/poloparkNov_0002.wmv";
src = "/images/Oct08.wmv";

Firefox should use the wmv file in the src attribute and that seems to be the Oct 08 file and not the Nov_0002 movie.

This link gives a 404 not found error, so that file is no longer there.

The WMP plugin is used and that plugin uses the IE internet cache, so you can clear that cache as well via IE to see if that helps.

I did all the removals etc etc but it seemed to me that it is unlikely that the same circumstances would apply to two different machines. I am friends with the fellow who makes the video and he has been working with it. He said that he experimented with the file using the old Windows movie maker V5.1 and could get it to work on his old XP in Firefox but it was not the case with my two XP machines. Actually, my hubby's XP will not display it either so that is 3 XPs in my house that will not display it. The friend thought that maybe one of the Firefox upgrades is making the difference. I don't know what else you can do to help unless you can see something in the Firefox updates. I will look forward to any information that you may give. Meanwhile, if we find a solution on this problem, I will report it back to you. Thank you for your time and consideration. Syl P.S. I should add that he has been using Window movie maker V6.1 on his W7 machine.

That problem has been resolved (for me and others) by the webmaster switching to Adobe Flash and that has solved the problems across the board. He will use the Flash player routinely now. It even loads faster. It doesn't address the issue that I had but since it is no longer a problem I will say Thank you again for your time. I appreciate your efforts. Sincerely, Syl

There are routers with a build-in cache, so if you have one of those then you may get an older page served instead of the current version.

But if the router's cache was the problem, would it not also effect Internet Explorer?? Just wondering.. Thank you for your responses. Syl
