Usually, the torrent client must be associated with the magnet protocol either in its settings window, or in the Windows Control Panel, Default Programs section.

If no program is associated with that protocol, Firefox will ask you which program you want to use to open the link.

If another torrent client is set to open magnet links in Firefox, you can change that under Options - Applications.

so , i tried the windows default program, and it says that the .torrent and .magnet are both opened by default by vuze. So i tried the second option and in the firefox , in the applications tab i find no extension that can be used by vuze, and so i send you a few print screens. I have a similar problem. The default for .torrent is vuze but I have no section or selection for a .magnet. Does this mean I can't use it or it won't work eith my computer? * I have an Acer Aspire one (notebook)

You must first try to open a magnet link before it shows up under Options/Preferences - Applications. Again, this is explained in the "Adding download actions" section of the following article.
