I have to leave firefox and go to Google Chrome to use my dymo labelwriter 4xl, firefox no longer works with dymo. HELP!
I have used a Dymo labewriter 4xl with all of my selling sites to print shipping labels(ebay, etsy,....stamps.com) on firefox browser for over 2 years. Suddenly yesterday, the printer prints a 2 inch x 1.5 inch label on my 4x6 paper, self stick label. The dymo-tech took control of my computer using TeamViewer and verified alllllllllllll the settings were correct, deleted the dymo printer and added it back with the most current driver. After an hour he concluded that my dymo printer will only work correctly if i open all my selling sites and stamps.com on google chrome. (so its NOT my dymo printer...it is Firefox!!!!) That means i run my businesses on firefox but go to google chrome to print shipping labels! THIS IS A HASSLE! Does anyone have a fix. Is Firefox aware of this crazy, all of a sudden glitch? What can I do? Thank you in advance for your help (ps....I am NOT high tech! PLEASE do NOT tell me to go to an all black screen and to start typing code in white letters....thats toooooo much for me!)...thanks again!...Gina

Hi Gina, if I understand correctly, the printout should match the label size, but Firefox is either doing an extreme reduction of the content (like scaling it down to 33% of the correct size but retaining the correct aspect ratio) or Firefox thinks your printer has some other kind of paper in it.
Could you check some settings under the covers:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste scaling and pause while the list is filtered
Each printer should have a print_scaling value of 1 (or possibly 1.00) to print at 100%.
That actually is in effect only if "Shrink to fit" is disabled....
(3) In the search box in the page, type or paste shrink and pause while the list is filtered
Each printer should have a print_shrink_to_fit value of true.
How does that all look so far?
(4) In the search box in the page, type or paste paper_data and pause while the list is filtered
I don't know the correct number for your paper size on your printer. Typically
- 1 = Letter
- 9 = A4
but I think I would need to install DYMO software to see Firefox reads the label data and saves that.
