Firefox crashes when trying to install a new Yahoo/Nectar.com toolbar
Firefox V7 crashes when trying to download the Yahoo supported Nectar.com tool bar and is unable to recover. This toolbar has worked perfectly in the past but after uninstalling and then reinstalling Firefox v7, Firefox indicates unsafe to download this software and crashes if a download is still requested. Firefox then requires reinstallation. This software states OK with Firefox and IE.
Firefox prevented this site (www.nectar.com) from asking you to install software on your computer.
I allowed this and downloaded : Install add-ons only from authors you trust. Nectar Search Toolbar (FreeCause inc.)

You are using a none secure site i.e. http instead of a secure https site. If it is crashing firefox trying to download that does not bode well that it will behave correctly when installed, my gut feeling would be to avoid, despite promises of free nectar shopping points. If you do install, also take care and note what else may get packaged with the install.

Apparently it's because Rapport is causing a conflict. Until the conflict is resolved by either Rapport or Nectar, you can only run one of these functions - Trusteer Rapport or Nectar Toolbar.
- edit - I seem to have fixed it by downloading the latest version of Trusteer Rapport from http://www.trusteer.com/support/rapport-installation-links

Trusteer Rapport has again been crashing Firefox. Their own site mentions Trusteer crashes browsers when other add-ons are in use. There have been quite a few reports of Trusteer crashing even in Safe Mode.
Your edit may suggest Trusteer has solved at least some of the problems. I note your link, for me in the uk & on Windows, leads to http://www.trusteer.com/support/en/windows-operating-systems-xp-vista-windows-7
That page then has lists of download locations, not sure if they are merely mirror sites, or if possibly some versions differ slightly.
I did start a thread about this problem: Trusteer Rapport is crashing Firefox /forums/contributors/707772
