deleted emails not going into trash. new folder creations cannot be deleted.
Hi support, i really and stumped and hoping someone could help here. One of my clients has hosted email through Gmail. They have their accounts connected via IMAP in Thunderbird on a MAC. I have one user whos emails do not go in the trash when he deletes them, also when he tries to delete a subfolder, nothing happens. But when he logs into his account online through gmail, his deleted emails go in the trash and he can delete subfolders. I went through all the support forums and tried all the preference/settings changes to move deleted email to trash etc, but that did nothing. So i figured its either a corrupted local profile or corrupted thunderbird app. I reinstalled TB, didnt do anything, recreated profile, still same issue. Lastly, i added his account on my windows 7 pc in thunderbird, and the same thing happens, so the issue isnt his profile on his MAC or anything with the program. no other user on the hosted gmail is experiencing this, only him. Please help.

This was one of the first things i tried, unfortunately it did not work. Remember i added his gmail account to thunderbird on a completely different computer and it does the same thing, so anything within the users profile that could be corrupt doesnt apply here since i added the account on a different computer as a new profile but still has the same exact issue.
Please confirm that you have the following::
Please double check the 'Trash' folder you mention. Confirm it is actually the gmail Trash/Bin folder which you have subscribed to see and not a default Thunderbird Trash folder. Make sure you have subscribed to see the gmail trash bin.
Check Account Settings > Server Settings for gmail account. when I delete a message' select: 'Move it to this folder' and select the Trash Bin on the gmail account. select: 'Clean up ("Expunge") Inbox on Exit '
- if desired - select: 'Empty Trash on Exit ' click on OK
Gmails advise/recommended settings suggest you use 'just mark it as deleted';this does not move it to the trash, but it is an alternative. The info also contains all other recommended settings.
