When I opened up youtube, it paused while loading then a message popped up saying that the script "http://s.ytimg.com/yts/jsbin/www-vfllENEkm/www_base_mod.js:3" has stopped working or is busy and asks me if I want to stop the script. From what I can see it's only on youtube and it's only on the youtube homepage. I tell it to disable the script and everything seems to work fine though. As I have seen a computer crash from infection while I was using it, any message that indicates abnormal performance makes me feel uneasy, please help.

After trying youtube today and not receiving any error messages, it appears that the script error I got when I started this thread was probably due to what adds were on the youtube home page on that day.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

I forgot to mention this but I am running Windows 8, so would that have anything to do with it?

Along with my Webroot Security software, I have tried the Microsoft safety scanner and the ESET online scanner and none found any malicious material.

ytimg.com stands for YouTube image. Images from YouTube, like thumbnails and icons come from that domain.

If you're constantly nagged to accept cookies, you've probably set either Firefox or Flash Player to "ask me every time". Both Firefox and Flash Player can be configured to always accept cookies from a particular domain, or to always reject them.

To configure Firefox's cookie settings, see

Enable and disable cookies that websites use to track your preferences

To configure Flash Player's cookie settings, open the Windows Control Panel, type flash into the search box in the top right corner, then click the Flash Player icon in the search results. The Flash Player settings manager is also where you can set camera and microphone permissions. By default, sites need your confirmation before being able to use them. You can either deny permission to all websites without being prompted, or specific sites only.
