I run Webroot SecureAnywhere and, after a Firefox update, I have to update "Application Protection" setting the Firefox.exe application from Protect to Allow. That is JUST an example of what cause some of the issues you are having. Try checking your anti-malware applications in case they are preventing issues. Since I run Firefox in Sandboxie, special update instructions must be followed! I created a thread with instructions that work but have not been updated because it seem no one was needing it.
