Firefox automatically updated on my computer yesterday and has since ceased to function. On start up I get the following error: "The instruction at 0x3feb9352 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program. I have uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it using the download found at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/. This did not work and continued to give the same error. No other programs have this issue and it did not occur until after Firefox automatically updated itself.

What's your computer system and Firefox version?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Unfortunately I get the same error message. I currently have version 56.0.1 installed on my computer which is running Windows 7. I have an older HP computer with an Inter(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU (760@2.80GHZ) It has 8 GBs of memory and a 64-bi operating system. Oddly, if I log in as my daughter Firefox works fine. Under my log in Firefox has ceased to work, Internet Explorer is iffy, and Chrome works smoothly and without a hitch. Last night I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but that does not seemed to have made a difference.
