How to access my preferences (from the tools, options browser tab)
In Firefox, when I click on tools then options, options does not function and won't allow me to make changes in my preferences. How do I fix this?

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

hi, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...
