It says it's downloading messages 1 of 13... but nothing happens. the message then goes. But comes back if I ask it to collect mail.
I have 4 email accounts set up in Thunderbird. They have all been working until sometime around midday today. Now no emails are downloaded automatically. If I select download emails, as message appears bottom left saying " downloading messages 1 of 13... " but nothing happens. After a minute or so the message then goes. But comes back if I ask it to collect mail again.
I've restarted Thunderbird and also the MAC.
Your email has just come through, so it seems to be only the default email that is a problem.

Log into the webmail site of the problem account and delete the problem mail or move it out of the Inbox. See if that frees up the remaining messages for thunderbird to download.

Thanks Airmail. Email with 29MG of files attached! Need to allow these to be downloaded. Under tools / Accounts / Dick space I have not checked don't download files larger... But still not downloading.
Restart your computer in safe mode with networking. See if they download then.
Airmail, thanks for the help, all working OK now. BUT is there a limit on how much Thunderbird can download? The attachments were 30MB in the problem email.
Thunderbird has no limits. If it worked in safe mode your antivirus software was probably slowing things down and causing it to fail.
It didn't download in safe mode, but once the ISP have removed it permanently emails started coming through again. My I SP has checked the files and email without finding anything wrong and has even downloaded with Thunderbird without problem! I think I must have just had a hic-up of some kind. Will see what happens. Thanks for your help Jon
