Hi,

The primary e-mail on my account has been hacked for over a decade. I just did a fresh install in Windows not realizing I wouldn't be able to sign in to my Firefox account using my current e-mail because apparently my current e-mail is "not the primary account holder e-mail". Now I imagine I would have added it as a backup e-mail for the case of if I couldn't access my primary e-mail (which as I've said I haven't been able to do since approximately 2011 or so) but there isn't even an option to send the confirmation to the backup e-mail in that case. I'm really tired of going through this on every website I signed up on prior to our e-mails getting hacked. Is there a way we can just change the owner to the other e-mail so I can get back into my account please?

Hi

To be able to change the primary email address for a Firefox Account, you will need to have access to that email account to be able to verify the change.

Without that, you may have to set up a new Firefox Account, such as the one you are using to access this support forum.

Ok the problem is I did that and it somehow tied to my old account which is why I can't log in. This website lets me sign in using the compromised e-mail account for some reason but the browser requires authentication and literally will not let me sign in to the other account I made with the email that works because it's "not the primary account". So now am I going to have to get a brand new throwaway e-mail to use for my account and have that also attach to the OG account?
