Running Firefox 3.6.12 on Mac and when I click a link in Email, Firefox activates but new tab or window will not open for the link I clicked.

I have recently reloaded Mac OS X and Firefox 3.6.12. I click on a link in any Email and Firefox activates as the top window but just shows my existing open tabs and not a new tab for the link.

If I open a new tab and copy the link directly then it works but why won't it work automatically?

Found a solution to the problem. The permissions for the firefox.app file were not set to admin - read-write. After adding this permission using the get info menu item when right clicking the file name in the applications folder, the tab now automatically opens when clicking on Email link.
