Firefox 30 hangs
Since I upgraded Firefox from 25 to 30 version, sometimes it hangs for a long time (a minute or so) with CPU usage at 100%. Interesting that all buttons and menus are working but no website can be opened. I think some add-on is auto-updating at that moment as I definitely turned off Firefox auto-update, but I cannot say which add-on causes this hang exactly. Probably none. I cannot use the no-add-on regime as anyway I won't know what add-on is problematic, because this happens not all the time but at an indefinite unknown moment.
My add-ons: Adblock Edge (v2.1.3) Cookie Monster (v1.2.0) DownThemAll! (v2.0.17) Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus (v1.3) FEBE (v8.0.4) Flashblock (v1.5.17) Flash Video Downloader - Full HD Download (v5.9.1) FoxyProxy Standard (v4.2.4) Google Similar Images (v0.5) Go Parent Folder (v2.9.1) gTranslate (v0.9) ImageBlock (v2.1) NoScript (v2.6.8.31) Password Exporter (v1.2.1) Show Parent Folder (v2.1) I checked all options and turned off any auto-update, but no avail. My system is WinXP SP3.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;
Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences
Then Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart.
Hi LeM12 Thank you for your question. It has been a while since we heard from you and I wanted to check to see if this helped. There was an issue where Firefox hangs on close that may have been caused by a Plugin. Can you please update your plugins Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems and report back, it will help the investigation of this issue. Thank you.
I do not know why but it stopped. I switched off some add-ons, and looks like it might have been gTranslate add-on. Worth mentioning that I upgraded the flash player to 14 version in 9 July, the old version might have caused the problem also.
Glad it is working. Thanks for posting back again.
You could try turning gTranslate back on again to see if that was the cause.
If it is the cause visit their support site and see if they can help you. Possibly there will be an update out or maybe one being worked on if it is a known issue.
