Several banking and utility company websites' statements open as PDF's in Safari. In Firefox they download only as CGI files. How do I view/open these statements in Firefox?

被選擇的解決方法

You can modify the file name and change the file extension from .cgi to .pdf and choose a more meaningful name if Firefox doesn't do that by itself. That should be sufficient in most cases.

This solution is a royal pain, but it works. Thanks

Applications panel - Set how Firefox handles different types of files

I wasn't able to open the files and since the documentation says you can't manually add a file type I saw no way to implement this solution. If I could get it to work, it seems it would be a better solution then downloading the file, renaming it with a PDF extension in order to view the file.

You are right, my mistake. Is it possible to save the webpage just as a pdf directly with an add on? Save As PDF

I installed the "Save As PDF" add-in, but didn't see how to use it. If it's supposed to be automatic - it didn't work at all. So, please clarify.

That extension can be used to save a web page as a PDF file. There are also extensions that can create a screenshot of the entire page.

This wouldn't help for your issue because you already have a PDF file that is send by the server, but Firefox doesn't save this file with the .pdf file extension, so other application do not recognize it as such.
