I recently noticed in Firefox Settings the statement --- "Your browser is being managed by Your organization".

When I clicked on that statement and printed off the information, that information was apparently about "Enterprise Policies", the management is "Active", the Policy Name is "certificates", the Policy Value is "ImportEnterpriseRoots", and then it is "true". I do not understand the message that is being shared here. Does Firefox understand it? If Firefox does understand it, would you mind sharing your understanding with me?

What is "ImportEnterpriseRoots"? What is its function? Concerning the statement, "Your browser is being managed by Your organization", what is meant by the words, "Your organization" and what is meant by the word, "managed".

To rid myself of "ImportEnterpriseRoots", will I need to rid myself of Firefox?

I

That is a policy document, possibly filed on your system by security software. You can delete it but the software would no doubt file it again.

Seeing the "Your browser is being managed by your organization" notification at the top of the Settings page is in most cases caused by security software that uses GPO policy rules (ImportEnterpriseRoots) to inject their root certificate in Firefox to be able to intercept and scan your internet traffic. Otherwise you would get an error that the certificate isn't trusted.
