I need Java for certain games but Firefox 6 does not allow it
I have just installed Firefox 6 but Java does not seem to be compatible, why and how can I correct this?

Firefox 6 allows Java. http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp Install missing plugins.
Java Console
Unless you do Java programming/development or debug Java applets on web pages, you do not need Java Console. Removing the Java Console extensions has no effect on the functioning of Java for web browsing. You can see, but not remove, the Java Console extensions in Add-ons > Extensions. Java Console extensions can be safely removed manually by following the instructions in this article:
