We have 3 e-mail adresses at Webmail (the mailing service of Jimdo, where our homepage is) and now we have a new laptop and the newest Thunderbird but now Thunderbird does not save our sent e-mails on the server of webmail. Please help us. It is very important for us and our security that all our mails are also stored on webmail. Best regards, Susann

Have you created an IMAP or POP mail account ?

You would need to have created an IMAP mail account. You cannot simply change server settings for a pop account, you would need to create a new existing mail account and set up as IMAP.

Have you subscribed to see the IMAP 'Sent' folder ?

  • Right click on imap mail account name in Folder Pane and select 'Subscribe'
  • select/highlight the 'Sent' folder and click on 'Subscribe'
  • click on 'OK'

Check Account Settings to be sure you are using that imap subscribed 'Sent' folder.

  • Right click on imap mail account name in Folder Pane and select ' Settings'
  • Select 'Copies & Folders'
  • Select :'place a copy in'
  • Select: 'Other' and choose the subscribed 'Sent' folder on imap account.
  • click on 'OK'

Exit and restart Thunderbird.

Hi Toad-Hall,

thank You very much for Your quick answer. You are right, I made a POP income server, this was a fault.

But I didi this because when I wanted to set up an IMAP then Thunderbird says: "Incoming server already exists ." And I cannot go on. How can I manage this? I tried to make everything from the very beginning, set up a new e-mail-account, but I onl get this message and cannot go on.

Thanks in advance! Best regards, Susan
