I have had FireFlox slowness in loading (not once it is loaded) for a few months. Chrome and IE are not slow in loading. Refeshing does not help. Why?
Firefox is slow to load initially. It has been slow like this for months. But once it is loaded there are no speed problems. This time I chose refresh and it got to the place where is said, 'Almost done' and the bar was green all the way. It stayed that why for over five minutes. I am having no problems with other browsers.

I understand that when you refreshed the browser that the last part takes a while.
There is another way to restore old data in a new profile, or if you are refreshing you can just try a new profile as well: EDIT Correction, thank you John99:Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles

Hi Mike,
I just stumbled across this thread. If you are still watching this note the most useful help articles are
- Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles
- Quick fixes if your Firefox slows down
- Use multiple profiles in Thunderbird is a Thunderbird article & IIRC we decided against writing an equivalent Firefox article

We have problems with our naming and listing of help articles so it is easy to select incorrect tiles and links. That is a known problem but we are not making much progress on this at present.
Contributors see long running & stalled subject
- Rename Thunderbird articles https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/knowledge-base-articles/711125?last=65480
We may expect more and greater numbers of this sort of issue with current trends & guidelines to
- Omit product name in kb titles
- Write many and shorter articles
