When I click the Firefox icon I get the window that wants me to move the icon to applications. I have done this several times, but still get this window. Also, the eject disk icon is always there until I trash it. I have used the old firefox for many years without problems. So, how do I open firefox without the "drag to apps" window, and how can I open firefox without the eject icon appearing?

Hello mslevison, if you have already a previous firefox version then you have to trash it first and then to install the new one, follow the next steps:

1. Download a copy of the latest firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html (full dmg package)

2. Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean install.

3. Install the version that you have downloaded.

Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.

Open the Firefox disk image file and drag the Firefox program into the Applications folder on your hard drive. You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the disk image, but instead drag it out of the DMG (disk image) folder.
