You can set what suggestions to show when you enter an URL in the location/address bar here:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest:
History
Bookmarks
Open tabs

Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:

  1. click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
  2. highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
  3. press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry

Thank you for responding. I think my question may not have been clear. When I start to type in a website address to visit, for privacy purposes I don't want an address/addresses to automatically fill in as I type. I want to type in the entire address without this feature. Similarly, I want to delete all of the addresses that have been saved from past browsing and which now become viewable in a drop-down list as I type. I have selected the "never remember history" option and it seems logical that should take care of it but it doesn't. Viewing history is right there as you type in an address.
