I JUST DOWNLOADED FIREFOX THIS WEEK AND NOW IT SAYS I HAVE AN OLDER VERSION AND HAVE TO UPDATEAND IT WON'T LET ME OPEN MY NETFLIX ORANYTHING ELSE. ONE WEEK AND
WHEN I TRY TO OPEN NETFLIX, THE FIREFOX WINDOW OPENS INSTEAD AND SAYS I HAVE OLDER VERSION OF FIREFOX AND NEED TO UPDATE. THE FIREFOX THING JUST KEEPS SPINNING AROUND AND WON'T LET ME DO ANYTHING ELSE. WHY IS A BRAND NEW DOWNLOAD NOW AN "OLDER VERSION". WHY WASN'T CURRENT AND UP-TO-DATE VERSION INSTALLED?

On Tuesday 8/11 Firefox 40 was released, then on Thursday an emergency 40.0.2 release was made. Could it be that you downloaded Firefox on Monday or early Tuesday?
Help > About Firefox should trigger the update and installation of same.
